Wisdom teeth are often impacted often due to lack of space between the second molar tooth and the bone behind. Impacted wisdom teeth may cause decay or resorption on the tooth in front. Partially erupted wisdom teeth may cause inflammation of surrounding gum or swelling. Removal of wisdom teeth is quite common.
