Routine check-ups and cleans are perhaps the most effective way to maintain healthy teeth and gums, fresh breath and to reduce the risk of dental emergencies (and costly treatment) later on in life.

A full checkup with one of our dentists involves a thorough assessment of your whole mouth. It generally takes between 30 minutes and up to 1 hour.

Your dentist will use professional equipment to remove tartar and plaque build-up around and in-between your teeth. No matter how careful your brushing, plaque can only be removed by a dentist.

Numbing gel can be used to reduce sensitivity. Your teeth will be polished and a fluoride treatment applied. If your dentist detects any concerns, they may take an X-ray of your teeth and discuss a treatment plan.

Your dentist or dental practitioner can use a dental filling to fix a cavity (hole), in a tooth. You may need a filling if you have tooth decay or if the tooth has been damaged due to trauma. Your dentist or dental practitioner may find damage to the structure of a tooth when you have a dental x-ray.
